Dubai Visit Visa

Visit Visa Currently, visa is compulsory for all visitors with the exception of nationals from the following countries that receive a free entry permit on arrival:
  • AGCC Nationals: (Arab Gulf Cooperation Council member countries) Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

  • North America: United States and Canada.

  • Western Europe: United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Holland, Belgium, Luxemburg, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Greece, Finland, Monaco, Vatican City, Iceland, Andorra, San Marino and Liechtenstein.

  • Oceania: Australia and New Zealand.

  • Far East: Japan, Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

  • Visitors from the island of Kish (Iran).
There are two types of visit visas. Short-term free entry visa is valid for one month removable for 30 additional days at a cost of 620 Dhs. (US$ 169). Long-terms ones, issued for 3 months, are non-renewable and cost 1000 Dhs. (US$ 272).

Tourists who overstay have to pay a penalty charge of Dhs. 100 (US$ 27) per day. If the overstay extends to a considerable amount of time, a court hearing is issued and the judge will decide what penalties will apply.

A visit visa doesn’t allow visitors to work in the UAE, except for AGCC expatriate residents who meet some conditions. AGCC visitors who are businessmen, company managers or representatives, auditors, accountants, doctors, engineers or employees working in the public sector, their family members and servants sponsored by them are eligible for the visa. Employees from the labor and servant categories are not eligible for this type of visa.

Officials will not grant visit visas to those who reapply immediately after leaving.
